Melissa Forrester, DVM

Title: Owner and Veterinarian: Dr. Forrester has a well rounded set of skills and experience with special interest in internal medicine, ultrasound, dentistry, and surgery.  She is passionate about education, and approaches her patients with an emphasis on care for their entire well-being.  Dr. Forrester's passion for high quality medicine and customer service are the cornerstone of what is special about Southeast Alabama Veterinary Hospital.

Education:  Dr. Forrester has a BA in Anthropology from Sewanee, and is a 2002 magna cum laude graduate of Auburn University College of Veterinary Medicine.

Bio: Dr. Forrester is married to Jared and they are the proud parents of two children: Carl and Claire and many furry children.

Professional Interests: dentistry, soft tissue surgery, internal medicine, ultrasound

Favorite thing about working at SEAVH:  Making a difference in the owner's and patient's lives by solving a challenging case, and watching the animal get better.

Hobbies: Volleyball, tennis, crafts, fishing, boating, college football


 Jamie Jones, MS, DVM

Title:  Veterinarian- Dr. Jones is the model of compassionate, professional veterinary care. She approaches each patient with a determination, thoughtfulness, and thoroughness that allows her to provide the highest quality care to our patients.

Bio: Dr. Jones has been working at SEAVH since December 2012.  She lives in Dothan with her husband, Phillip, and her spunky daughter, Sutton

Education: B.S. Biological Psychology- The College of William and Mary 1999, M.S. Animals and Public Policy- Tufts University 2004, DVM-High Honors- University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign

Pets: Emmett-the cat

Hobbies: Sewing, Crafting, Writing, and Sports

Favorite thing about working at SEAVH: Educating clients about their furry family members.  A well informed client is the best advocate for their animal's health and welfare!  And of course, taking care of all our sweet and adorable patients.

Michelle Jordan

Title: Receptionist Michelle is a multi-tasking dynamo!  She is the lead receptionist, and provides amazing attention and personalized customer service to all of our patients and clients. She is extremely organized and incredibly knowledgeable.  She is an invaluable asset to our team.

Hobbies: Going to the beach, spending time with her daughter, Megan, and scrapbooking, shopping, and anything outdoors

Pets: 2 Dogs- Timmy 2 cats- Hitler and Lucy

Sarah Allen

Title: Veterinary Assistant- Sarah assists in all aspects of the practice, and is an invaluable asset to the team.  She coordinates all of our safety programs, monitors inventory, and provides incredible "MacGyver" skills- she can fix just about anything.  She also is instrumental in organizing and maintaining our AAHA accreditation.

Professional Interests: Sarah is our primary dental assistant- she has attended the Veterinary Dental Forum in Atlanta to further her education in Veterinary Dentistry.

Pets: 2 dogs Myra, Maddison; 2 Cats Mr. Wiggles, Evil

Hobbies: Arts and Crafts, Raising baby squirrels

Favorite thing about working at SEAVH: Saving a pet's life or to see a pet grow from a pup or kitten to a healthy adult. Helping the stray pets or organizations such as the Humane Society get pets healthy so they can find a good home. 

Brandi Cook

Title: Veterinary Assistant- Brandi is an incredibly versatile member of our team- She assists in all aspects of practice, and is also responsible for maintaining our pet portal site, special order drugs, staff scheduling, and payroll. She is amazing at anticipating what needs to be done, and provides great support to the whole team.

Bio: Brandi is married to Gail Raye, and they have a handsome little boy, Graham, who is the light of their lives.

Hobbies: Travel, movies, and spending time with family and friends, watching college football, pet sitting

Pets: 5 cats and 1 dog

Favorite thing about working at SEAVH: She loves taking care of the animals, and loves when we can help a sick animal and return them back to a happy owner.  She also really loves the challenging case where the diagnosis is not readilly apparent-when we have to work hard to find the diagnosis and correct treatment.  She feels like this job is so rewarding in so many ways. 

Sherie Suss

Title: Veterinary Assistant- Sherie assists the veterinarians in all aspects of practice.  She always brings a fun and enthusiastic attitude to the hospital. She provides wonderful customer service with a smile and a helping hand. Sherie also takes advantage of many continuing education opportunities to expand her knowledge of veterinary medicine.

Bio: Sherie is married to Glenn and they have 2 daughters

Sue Basham

Title: Veterinary Assistant- Sue assists the veterinarians in all aspects of practice. Sue is fun-loving member of our team, and treats her patients with extreme care and compassion.

Bio: Sue completed the Jefferson State Veterinary Technician program in May 2018.  She has an extensive background in combat medicine for military working dogs

Hobbies: Traveling, gym, listening to musci, spending time with family, coloring, and movies

Pets: 2 dogs and 2 parrots

Favorite thing about working at SEAVH: Sue likes working in a family oriented environment, taking care of animals, learning new techniques, and helping in surgery.


Julie Morrison:  

Title: Veterinary Assistant- Julie assists in all aspects of the practice. Julie is a very sweet, compassionate member of our team.  She treats every patient with the upmost care and compassion. She is always there to comfort a sick patient or their worried owner.  

Bio: Julie is a military spouse, and has twin boys that are also both serving in the US Army.  She has lived in 7 different states and 3 countries in the last 20 years due to her family's military service.  She has had many different and fun jobs, but his one is her favorite of all.

Hobbies: Cross fit, Chillin' with her husband, playing with her pets, dancing and hanging out with her friends.

Pets: 2 German Short Hair Pointers, 1 PitBull, 2 cats

Favorite thing about working at SEAVH: Julie says everyday is different, and she loves to get dog and cat luvins.  She loves to be part of a team that that is so selfless, and that truly cares about their patients and clients.  She feels like she learns something new every day, and gets to put that knowledge into action to better serve her patients.

Favorite thing about working at SEAVH: Felicity says she loves the environment of SEAVH.  She says she is constantly learning new things.  She loves watching everyone work together to help animals be happy and healthy.  She also really enjoys studying things under the microscope.
